Currently Steven has been working on his latest robot called Ethel was a tree growing off of his shoulder (Ethel for short) Ethel is a large robot she weighs about about 300 lbs and is about 30x30 inches at the base and is over 5 feet tall. Ethel has a 4wd drive train and uses skid steer like a Bobcat to maneuver. The main drive is quite powerful and stout using a welded tubular steel frame two Bosch GPA 750 watt motors (one for each side) and a 23 to 1 two stage chain reduction producing 368 foot pounds of torque and 814 pounds of tractive force. Ethel has a Via Nano-ITX main board with a 1Ghz Luke core processor and 1 GB of RAM. She runs Microsoft XP Pro for her operating system and is programed using Roborealm and the VB scripting language. Ethel can be controlled with a Logitech 2.4 Ghz wireless joystick, Logitech wirless keyboard. Futaba 9CAP 75 Mhz PCM radio or using a laptop with WiFi and the Microsoft Remote PC software or through the Internet using a server. Ethel is also capable of sensing her environment using Roborealm and a Web camera and vision processing augmented with ultrasonic and infrared sensors. These are the areas I'm working on now. Ethel is also a Party Robot she has a 250 Watt AM/FM/CD Sony stereo, DVD player , i-Tunes, Windows media player and over 850 songs and video. Ethel is internet capable using WiFi. Ethel also has Duel Poofer type flame devices and can pivot the nozzels arms about 270 degrees and produce fire balls 30 feet high and six feet in diameter with each arm. These are just for fun and display purposes (of course)
